Cricket West Indies’ Coolidge Cricket Ground Supports Community Health Through Partnership with Friends of MSJMC

ST JOHN’S, Antigua - Cricket West Indies (CWI), through the Coolidge Cricket Ground (CCG), is showcasing its commitment to community health and social responsibility by its continued support of the Friends of the Mount St. John’s Medical Centre (Friends of MSJMC), and their efforts towards enhancing breast cancer awareness and care in Antigua & Barbuda.
Friends of MSJMC hosted the 10th anniversary of their signature Tickle Me Pink (TMP) fundraiser on October 18 at the courtyard of the CWI-owned facility. Held annually during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the event raises much needed funds to support the Oncology Unit of the medical institution, helping to provide care and assistance to cancer patients.
For the past two years, CCG has been a key corporate partner for the charity group and the event, by offering venue space and financial support that allows more proceeds to go directly toward patient care. The venue’s elegant courtyard provides a beautiful setting that comfortably hosts the event’s growing number of supporters.
“The Coolidge Cricket Grounds (CCG) is one of many Corporate Partners who support Friends of MSJMC. They have been directly impacting our Tickle Me Pink (TMP) event in a very positive and tangible way for the past two years,” said Lawrence Blackman, Treasurer of Friends of MSJMC.
“Partnering with CCG means we can utilize their Courtyard space to create an amazing environment with a beautiful ambiance that is fitting for our patrons. It also comfortably accommodates the growing number of patrons attending this annual fundraising event."
"We are grateful for their generous donation by way of a discount so that our non-profit organization can afford to host this very important event that supports the Oncology Unit at the hospital during the month of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We look forward to their continued support for TMP 2026! On behalf of the executive and members of Friends of MSJMC, we say thank you CCG!”
This partnership is part of CWI’s wider effort to use its facilities and resources to benefit communities across the Caribbean. Beyond cricket, the organization continues to support health, education and social development initiatives.
CCG General Manager Nelecia Yeates highlighted the importance of the partnership, saying:
"Cricket West Indies recognizes that our role extends far beyond the boundary rope. The Coolidge Cricket Ground represents an important community asset, and we take pride in leveraging it to support and encourage health and social awareness and our support of this event is a perfect example of that.”
“Partnering with Friends of MSJMC to advance breast cancer awareness and raise funds for medical research aligns perfectly with our vision of being an active, responsible contributor to Caribbean society. This collaboration demonstrates how sport and community wellness can come together to create meaningful impact, and we remain committed to this partnership moving forward."
